Download & installCourse material for the Jellyfish tutorial environment |
The courses on this page are device-independent, that is, they
should work on Macintosh, Windows(TM) or UNIX systems.
Course material for the Jellyfish system can be written once and used
anywhere because all the file formats are standard types like text,
GIF etc.
You will need a computer which is connected to the internet using EtherNet or similar.
You will also need a Zip file extractor on your computer in order to acquire and unpack the files. If you do not have a Zip file extractor, click here.
You will also need a password to access these files. The password can be obtained by writing to Advance Education staff ae@maths.uwa.edu.au.
If you have not already done this, click here to find out more.
See below for a list of the courses available.
You will need to pass a security check.
To make this discussion more concrete, let's assume that you wish to download and install the Dynamics_100.zip course.
When the file Dynamics_100.zip is extracted you should see a new directory on your hard disc called Dynamics_100.
If your FlyingFish server is running, shut it down before doing the next step. FlyingFish has some internal caches which may not be properly initialised if you change the course material while it is running.
Put the new directory into your task directory. This is the directory nominated in the Jellyfish.ini file and is c:\FlyingFish\task\ by default.
The top level body.html document (at the root level of the task directory) may not have a convenient link for you to click on. In this case simply append the name of the new course to your system address like this:
http://[your server address/jellyfish/Dynamics_100/
Note that the trailing / is significant!

This is NOT a Jellyfish problem set: it is a short text as a web site with embedded animations. Some probems are included but they are not networked to the Jellyfish server.
