RESEARCH
PROGRAMS
Since
its formation in 2006, the EAM Network has engaged in a range
of multi-disciplinary research projects. These projects bring together
latent capability from engineering and non-engineering groups within
the UWA community, to investigate and develop solutions for specific
organisations. The scale of the project ranges from unfunded and funded
final year student projects to fully-funded research contracts.
CO-ORDINATORS OF EAM ACTIVITIES
EAM activities at UWA are coordinated by Dr. Melinda Hodkiewicz and
Reliability Engineering activities by Dr. Kecheng Shen. Within the UWA
academic community there are many academics who have specific expertise
relevant to understanding and resolving AM and Reliability challenges.
These individuals are identified on the EAM Network Map. Contact may be made directly with this individuals using the UWA Contact directory or by contacting the coordinators.
HOW DID THE EAM PROGRAM GET STARTED?
The EAM program started with the formation of the West Australian Asset
Management Initiative in 2004. The story of who was involved and what
the initiative achieved is at the WAAMI web
site. In 2006 the EAM Discipline Group was formed and endorsed by UWA's
Academic Board. At the end of 2010, changes in the internal structure
of the university resulted in the abolition of Discipline Groups and
the Engineering Asset Management Network was formed.
