Resources page for GICHD Mine Detection Dog Study. This major research project was started in 2001 and aims to establish better ways of using mine detection dogs. This is being done partly by designing better standards and training regimes, and partly by scientific investigation. The unfortunate events of September 2001 have been a major setback as a 2 year field study was to commence then in Afghanistan. This study has been postponed until the security situation returns to a manageable state.
