Mechatronics Component SuppliersRefer to separate procedures for ordering parts and components. Students should note that it takes time for parts to be delivered. It is always best to approach distributors in person unless you are purchasing commonly purchased components such as small electronics parts. Generally you will find them very helpful. If you speak with sales representatives directly always keep a note of their name, telephone number (direct), the time that you called, the date, a summary of the conversation and any promises given. When you have this information it is much easier to chase them up when the order (or technical information) has not arrived. Building up a reference set of component suppliers is an important activity for any engineer. This is just a starting point for you. For extensive information on current products and suppliers, refer to the magazine "What's New in Process Engineering" in the G.19 Lab. are also available from RS Components: For sensing devices, see the following: Strain gauges See separate pages for electronic components and information resources.
