Mechatronics Projects

The project work is core to this unit, allowing student to experience and demonstrate real design issues.  Working in teams on projects prepares you for professional work in any engineering discipline. Within the project, students need to gain and demonstrate that they have attained and applied new knowledge, not just applied existing knowledge.  These are large & complex projects, which often span several years, although some smaller projects are also offered.  The idea is to focus on a good engineering contribution, thorough design and documentation of the overall system.

Specific details of the how the projects run and what you need to do can be found in the document: The Guide to Mechatronics Project work

A list of the projects offered in 2009 are shown below.  Details of each of these projects can be found on the Mecharonics Wiki page.   This year, projects span 5 schools, offering a wide range of interdisciplinary problems to be solved.
Project teams will consist of at least 2-students from MCTX3420 and 2-students from MCTX2420.
