MCTX 3420- Laboratory Details
The two Laboratory excercises explore 3 main themes, namely:
Construction and design of sensor /actuator system
Design, construction and calibration of a load cell
Students are required to form teams of 2. For each Laboratory a kit with the components is to be collected from Reinier de Lange-
Senior Electronics Technician (x7098, Room G57
rdelange@mech.uwa.edu.au). Pre-Laboratory questions are graded. Breadboards,
PCB and Vero board are also avaiable for testing and construction of
circuits if required. A charge may be incurred if replacement components or kits are required.
Details of the Lab Work to be done
Laboratory #1 Instructions
Sensor/Relay System: PCB soldering, assembly and Design of a mechatronics system: Due Week 34, COB Thursday
Complete Laboratory #2 Instructions (Incl. Prelab Questions)
OR if you prefer, just the Lab 2 PreLab Questions
Strain gage load cell
Prelab questions: Due Week 36, COB Thursday
New Due Date: Due Week 40, COB Thursday
To assist with Lab2, a set of potential circuits
are provided. You are not to simply copy and use these.
They are for comparison with your submitted Prelab Circuits.
If your Prelab circuit is different, you can modify it, but
please address why you made the changes - this requires you understand
the circuit and the circuit components.
